The one with the Football

It's FINALLY here!!

Football season is upon us

it's seriously the happiest time ever!

Josh & I really need this plaque in our house.

Because it's football season
and because 1 year traditional present is
Paper....
I got Josh (and of course me)
tickets to the Utes vs. Aggies opening game.

We certainly were in our happy place during the game.

The Aggies put up an excellent fight.

The game pretty much caused Josh & I
a lot of anxiety.

But in the end we WON!

Happy Football Season everyone!

The one with the Anniversary

Joshua & I were married

I cannot believe that it has been a year.
We have a house and a kitty now.

We celebrated our anniversary last night.

Our first stop was the Salt Lake Temple.

We attended our first actual session at this temple.
(We counted this as our August temple visit).

Josh surprised me and took us to Wendy's for dinner.

Okay so let me explain the Wendy's....

After our reception and on our way to the Anniversary Inn

we were STARVING!

We stopped at the drive thru of Wendy's and ordered a lot of food!

Josh decided to recreate that night.
(and Wendy's never tasted better).

After Wendy's Josh blindfolded me with a shirt.

He drove around forever!

(I thought we were going to Kamas for the night because
he told me to pack clothes I could get dirty in and a sweatshirt).

After a half hour of blinded car ride we ended up at the

Anniversary Inn!!

We spent the night in the English Manor room.

It was a wonderful night.

Today we toasted to our 1 year and many more years to come.

We also watched our wedding video.

It has been a wonderful year....

and I look forward to the next eternity!

The one with the Hike

Today Joshua turned

24!

So to celebrate we went for a hike to Cecret Lake
(yes it is spelled with a "C").

Cecret Lake is up Little Cottonwood Canyon.

We had a blast. We experienced some gorgeous scenery.

Just as we stood up to leave the rock we were laying on

there was a huge rumble of thunder & lightning right next to us.

I took off running!

I have never been that close to a thunder/lightning storm.

As we were running down the mountain

it started to HAIL!! (yes folks, it was hailing and it left welts).

we made it to the car safely and drove home.

The one with Elder Ballard

Josh and I are both related to the Smith Family.

The reunion for the Smith family was this past weekend.
There was a 5k run that recognized Dr. Nathaniel Smith.
Dr. Smith was Joseph's doctor that saved Joseph's leg when he was young.

Throughout this run there were missionaries everywhere!
They were cheering us on.

At the end of the race we were greeted by Elder Ballard.

This was the best 5k I have ever attended.
